After an audit from the Department of Defense revealed that the Pentagon couldn’t account for over $1 billion in weapons and equipment that was meant for fighters in Iraq, the question remains: Did ISIS gain $1 BILLION in weapons and equipment as a result?
The September 2016 audit was declassified after the human rights organization Amnesty International filed a Freedom of Information Act request. It revealed that the Pentagon “did not have accurate, up-to-date records on the quantity and location” of the majority of the equipment that was meant for the Iraqi Train & Equip Program.
The missing equipment came from the $1.6 billion budget Congress allocated for the program in 2015. The budget was approved in the name of fighting the Islamic State of Iraq & Syria—a group of militants that didn’t exist until nearly a decade after the United States invaded Iraq in 2003.
It should be noted that a report from Amnesty International in December 2015 claimed that ISIS had an extensive arsenal consisting of the same U.S.-made weapons that were intended for its opposition—the Iraqi Army and “moderate rebel” groups in Syria.
Patrick Wilcken, Amnesty International’s arms control and human rights researcher, acknowledged the troubling pattern that was once again reaffirmed in the latest audit.
“This audit provides a worrying insight into the US Army’s flawed—and potentially dangerous—system for controlling millions of dollars’ worth of arms transfers to a hugely volatile region,” Wilcken said. “It makes for especially sobering reading given the long history of leakage of US arms to multiple armed groups committing atrocities in Iraq, including the armed group calling itself the Islamic State.”
Amnesty also noted that the audit shed light on the Department of Defense’s failure to track the equipment after it was delivered to ensure that it arrived in the hands of the army, “despite the fact that the department’s Golden Sentry program is mandated to carry out post-delivery checks.”
The DoD audit found several serious shortcomings in how ITEF equipment was logged and monitored from the point of delivery onward, including: Fragmentary record-keeping in arms depots in Kuwait and Iraq. Information logged across multiple spreadsheets, databases and even on hand-written receipts; Large quantities of equipment manually entered into multiple spreadsheets, increasing the risk of human error; And Incomplete records meaning those responsible for the equipment were unable to ascertain its location or status.
While the report from Amnesty International seemed to cast the blame on the Iraqi Armed forces for failing to keep up with the equipment, Michel Chossudovsky from the Center for Global Research noted that the Pentagon has been intentionally channeling weapons “to jihadist armed groups as part of carefully designed military agenda with a view to destabilizing Iraq as a nation state.”
“Amply documented, the ISIS and other terror groups have been receiving weapons from both the US and its allies including Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar,” Chossudovsky wrote. “And a significant part of the $1.6 billion has been used to finance weapons shipments to the ISIS, both directly as well as indirectly through third parties.”
As The Free Thought Project has reported, a declassified Pentagon report from 2012 “proved that the growth and expansion of ISIS was a direct result of arms being sent by the U.S. to anti-Assad Islamists, with the strategic U.S. intention of toppling the Assad regime in Syria.”
Given the fact that another $1 billion in weapons and equipment has seemingly vanished in the volatile region, it is all the more important to remember that while the Pentagon may never admit it, the idea that the U.S. would intentionally send weapons to militant groups, in order to influence the political climate in the region is much more than just a “conspiracy.” In fact, it is a well-documented phenomenon.

The ISIS Puppet Show shows no sign
of abating in recent weeks, with the fanatical mercenary group miraculously branching out to somehow attack the Philippines, Australia, Britain and now even Iran. Yesterday on June 7th, 2017, ISIS has claimed responsibility for what was actually a twin attack on Iran. The attackers (some of whom were disguised as women) shocked Iran by simultaneously striking its Parliament building and the tomb of its revolutionary founder Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, leader of the 1979 revolution. It was the worst terrorist attack in the Islamic republic for a long time, with 46 wounded and at least 12 killed. By calling it the “ISIS Puppet Show”, I am in no way implying that the attacks are faked or hoaxed, nor am I making light of the fact that real innocent people are dying whenever ISIS carries out its brutal and barbaric attacks. However, the ISIS phenomenon always leads to more questions. How on earth is ISIS able to export its terror to both hemispheres and virtually every continent on earth? How is it able magically bypass the security of all these nations? Who is pulling the strings of the ISIS Puppet Show?
ISIS Attack on Iran: Both In Accord and Not in Accord with the Zionist-US Script
You can look at the ISIS attack on Iran from different perspectives. On one hand, is surprising since it appears to contradict the line that you hear coming from Israel, the Zionist Trump Administration and the US Deep State (Military Intelligence Complex) that Iran is “the biggest sponsor of terrorism in the world”. Those groups are pushing that lie because they want to an excuse to subjugate and overtake Iran, who thus far has successfully resisted the Zionist-Saudi influence in that region. In many ways this ISIS attack will generate sympathy for Iran. Unfortunately for the propagators of the “Iran sponsors terrorism” myth, this ISIS attack on Iran contradicts the idea that Iran is the biggest funder of terrorism. It’s giving Iran a platform to (rightfully) accuse Saudi Arabia, the home of the extreme Wahhabi brand of Islam that ISIS embraces, as being the true source and funder of international terrorism.
Are the Saudis Sending the Iranians a Message with their ISIS Takfiris?
However, on the other hand, it’s important to remember the ISIS puppet show is a tool in the hands of US-UK-Zionist New World Order – and it’s a tool that can be wielded in many ways. Up until a few months ago, ISIS was for 2 main purposes: to attack Assad in Syria and help allow US proxy forces to overthrow him, as well as to scare the crap out of the general public in Western countries like the US, UK, France, Germany, Australia and Canada with occasional false flag ops. Now, the scope has broadened; with ISIS attacking both the Philippines and Iran, it appears that the US-UK-Israeli puppetmasters are embarking upon a new strategy of directing their pet Frankenstein against “recalcitrant” leaders and nations that aren’t falling into the line with the globalist NWO plan.
By using ISIS to directly attack Iran (who is both Israel’s and Saudi Arabia’s arch enemy), Saudi Arabia, emboldened by its recent weapons deal with the US, is no doubt sending a warning to Iran that it means business. Furthermore, this attack is sure to stir all sorts of up trouble in the turbulent Middle East. As mentioned above, Iran already reacted very quickly to the attack by accusing Saudi Arabia of masterminding it. This comes on the heels of stunning recent developments in the Gulf as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and UAE (United Arab Emirates) have all cuts ties with Qatar (all of whom are members of the oil-exporting GCC [Gulf Cooperation Council]). Saudi Arabia has even closed its land border with Qatar! Why? Because the Saudis are demanding loyalty from Qatar and don’t like how Qatar is maintaining friendly ties with Iran. Consequently, Qatar is now looking to Iran and Turkey for food supplies in the coming weeks.
Saudi Pot Calls the Qatari Kettle Black
On top of all that, Saudi Arabia is claiming that it’s cutting off ties with Qatar because Qatar is funding too much terrorism! Pot calling the kettle black couldn’t even begin to describe that one. It’s an open secret that Saudi Arabia is hands down the biggest funder of terrorism in the entire world. Here is a quote from the article How Saudi Wahhabism Is the Fountainhead of Islamist Terrorism:
“It would be troublesome but perhaps acceptable for the House of Saud to promote the intolerant and extremist Wahhabi creed just domestically. But, unfortunately, for decades the Saudis have also lavishly financed its propagation abroad. Exact numbers are not known, but it is thought that more than $100 billion have been spent on exporting fanatical Wahhabism to various much poorer Muslim nations worldwide over the past three decades. It might well be twice that number. By comparison, the Soviets spent about $7 billion spreading communism worldwide in the 70 years from 1921 and 1991.
This appears to be a monumental campaign to bulldoze the more moderate strains of Islam, and replace them with the theo-fascist Saudi variety. Despite being well aware of the issue, Western powers continue to coddle the Saudis or, at most, protest meekly from time to time.”
Think about those numbers for a moment. Russia’s $7 billion on funding communism vs. Saudi Arabia’s $100 billion on funding Wahhabism (which espouses violence and promotes Islamic terrorism). Think about how much war and destruction was undertaken by the US in the name of stopping the spread of communism. Yet, Saudi Arabia spends over 14 times more than Russia on a dangerous ideology and the US supports it with open arms, billion-dollar arms deals and the petrodollar arrangement.
Islamic Terrorism: An Old, Old Game of the US-UK-Israeli Axis
Islamic terrorism, or more accurately, the Islamic terrorism psyop, is an old game that has been played for a long time by Britain, Israel and the United States. In the article Zionism vs Islam – Which is More Dangerous?, I discussed how the Israelis (especially agencies like the Mossad) have perfected the art of framing Arabs and Muslims for their Zionist terrorist attacks and false flag ops. Israeli leaders have created “Zio-Islamic terrorism” which has fooled most of the world into hating Muslims for the evil things that Israel planned.
The US has a history of using Islamic terrorism to its advantage too, starting in 1979 with the infamous mujahideen of Afghanistan who were tricked into helping the US achieve its geopolitical objective by pushing back against the USSR. The now deceased arch globalist Zbigniew Brzezinski always comes to mind when I think of how the West used Islamic terrorists as cannon fodder when he told them that the fight was just and that god was on their side.
The truly brilliant article Islamic Terrorism: Our Ally for 38 Years goes into great detail about the use of Islamic terrorism by the US for almost 4 decades, long before the ISIS puppet show:
“Islamic terrorists are wonderful instruments for proxy wars – they cost very little but fight fearlessly. They are a global resource that can be brought into any local conflict. They are also expendable – we use them when convenient and kill them when inconvenient.
If this shocks the conscience of people, it just means they haven’t been paying keen attention. Consider the following examples:
- Thomas Friedman of The New York Times wrote that we shouldn’t attack ISIS in Syria; and we should even consider arming ISIS to overthrow Assad
- John Kerry admitted, “U.S. tried to use ISIS to force Assad into negotiations.”
- Israeli military chief explained, “Israel prefers ISIS to Assad”
- Israeli defense minister recounted, “ISIS never intentionally attacks us; and when it happened once, ISIS apologized immediately.” Hello!
- Hillary Clinton wrote, “Saudi Arabia and Qatar fund and arm ISIS.”
- Joe Biden, Gen. Martin Dempsey, Gen. Wesley Clark all have stated that US allies in the Middle East arm and fund Al Qaeda and ISIS.
- Several State Department cables have clearly laid out how Saudi Arabia is the #1 source of funding for terrorism around the world – not just in the Middle East.
Ever wonder why we never go to war against or impose sanctions on these sponsors of terrorism? Heck we don’t even condemn them!
What goes through a reader’s mind when they see an article titled “Accepting Al Qaeda” that is published by Council on Foreign Relations – the think tank behind US foreign policy? Or when Hillary Clinton’s chief foreign policy advisor wrote to her, “Al Qaeda is on our side”?”
See the original article for links to back up all its quotes. The game is rather obvious if you’re paying attention – and rather funny when you consider that ISIS recruits were caught ordering the “Koran for Dummies”. There are many more than 10 reasons that ISIS is a US-Israeli creation. The article continues on by referencing the spread of Islamic terrorism and ISIS throughout the world, particular to the Philippines:
“In Asia, we need to prevail upon Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines. Without them, we lose much of Asia to China. Sharia Law and Salafism are gaining momentum in Indonesia, which is a positive sign. Philippines’ crazy leader, Duterte, has been too friendly with Russia and China. He will lose his popularity and get replaced if the ISIS affiliate – Abu Sayyaf – causes enough problems. If he fights back against ISIS, we will cry “human rights” and “Islamophobia” at the UN and impose sanctions.”
Finally, the article alludes to the possible plan the NWO conspirators may have to even use Islamic terrorism against China, the last of the 2 big enemies (alongside Russia) to be encircled and conquered:
“Moving forward, the biggest economic challenge for us will be China. However, it has an Achilles heel – the western province of Xinjiang that is predominantly made up of Muslims. With help from Turkey, we have already created in Xinjiang an Islamist movement that is calling for secession. China’s One Belt One Road is very dependent on freight trains safely traveling through that region on their way to Europe. Our future Mujahideen in Xinjiang will come in handy if China starts to misbehave.”
Why the US Love the Saudis So Much
The US loves Saudi Arabia, no matter how many women it stones to death, how many people it beheads and how many lashes it doles out to its free speech bloggers. What can compare with the Saudi network of mosques and madrases teaching militant Wahhabi Islam? The Saudis help the US do its dirty work in a way that no other nation can, as this article explains:
“It is clear that despite the New York Times attempting to make a connection between Saudi-funded indoctrination at mosques and madrasas and terrorism as ambiguous as possible, Saudi funding is the primary factor driving extremism and filling the ranks of terrorist organisations like Al Qaeda and the Islamic State.
Coupled with covert, indirect and direct military support when these extremists reach various battlefields around the world, Saudi-funded extremism represents what is essentially a mercenary expeditionary force, auxiliaries used in pursuit of modern day empire.
As witnessed in Libya and Syria, the purpose behind the United States and Europe supporting Saudi Arabia and turning an intentional blind-eye to its global network of extremist indoctrination and the terrorist organisations these networks feed into, is targeting and overthrowing governments the United States and Europe are incapable of overthrowing directly with military force.
Saudi-funded indoctrination filling the ranks of this virtual global mercenary force, can be used as a tool for regime change. Saudi-funded extremists were instrumental in overthrowing the Libyan government in 2011, and have led the fight to oust the Syrian government.“
The ISIS puppet show is the latest installment of a decades-old plan to use fanatics, fools and mercenaries to get the job done.
Expect the ISIS Puppet Show to Continue
So now Iran has been hit. Will it stop here? No. Expect the ISIS puppet show to continue showing up in nations around the world who aren’t toeing the NWO line. However, there’s one place that ISIS has never hit, despite that fact it’s right next door to their home base, and despite the fact they follow the kind of doctrine that encourages them to hate Christians, Shiites and Jews. That nation is Israel.

Donald Trump is the spark and not the fire. Peggy Noonan
Peggy Noonan writes opinion pieces for the Wall Street Journal. She was invited to attend the 2017 Bilderberg Conference. Apart from her press credentials, she is an expert on both Trump and the anti-Globalist movement. Other journalists are experts on the Mideast and might have provided the billionaires, who think they own the governments of the US, the UK and the European Union, with the background information they need to decide whether or not war in the Mideast at this time is a good idea. That is war would be good for them. They do not care about your aversion to organized mass violence
Usually, something is said or done after a Bilderberg meeting. The 2017 post-Bilderberg headlines are somewhat terrifying. A dispute between Saudi Arabia and Qatar has flared up. Both nations have US troops on their soil. The Saudis have accused Qatar of funding ISIS. Actually, the Saudis, the US, the UK and Israel have been doing a much better job at that than Qatar. Qatar did ransom 26 men from a hunting party in Iraq. The money was paid to Iraq’s popular militias which were organized by Iran and outnumber the Iraqi regular Army. At present these soldiers are on the border with Syria and could link up with the Syrian Army within 2 months. This disturbs the Israelis and their client states, the US, the UK and the Saudis.
The US is helping the Saudis attack Yemen. We are starving their children to death and cutting them off from modern medicine so cholera is likely to kill a few hundred thousand Yemenis. The Saudis flew in planeloads of Al Qaeda men from Iraq and Syria to kill Yemenis. But this is a backburner war and will not threaten us until Qatar boils over. And that might not happen until the weekend.
The Saudis want to blockade Qatar. The Qataris are running to the shops to buy food before prices become astronomical.
The Turkish parliament is voting to send soldiers to defend Qatar. The Turkish Army will not fight American soldiers especially so far from home.
The Corporate Fake News is full of stories about how the Saudi royals do not like the Qatari royal family.
Nonsense. This war is about money. The Saudis created the Petrodollar to replace the gold exchange standard set up in 1944. The Saudis do whatever the Rothschild agent Henry Kissinger tells them to do. The Saudis were told to sell oil only for dollars. Because Wall Street sent American jobs overseas while doubling the population through immigration the US balance of payments became distinctly unbalanced. Nobody wanted to buy American especially after Monsanto convinced the professional criminals in DC that GMO crops and Glyphosate were good enough for the people who vote and pay taxes.
The Saudis accumulated dollars and promised they would buy US Treasury bonds with the money they made selling oil to Europe and Asia. Problem is that Saudi oil reserves aren’t what they used to be. The Saudis have been selling US Treasury bonds to help cover their deficit. Not Good for the Dollar as China and others have been selling Treasury bonds. Rob Kirby told us that the CIA saved the Dollar by buying $1.4 trillion in Treasury bonds with their drug war profits.
Doubt the CIA makes that much money? Why did President Bush tell his allies he had decided to invade Afghanistan even before 911? Why is the war in Afghanistan America’s longest running war?
Today I read of the ISIS attacks in Tehran. Those terrorists were funded by the US and operate out of Pakistan’s Balochistan province which borders Iran. 100,000 people a year die from heroin overdoses thanks to the abundant supply and low prices made possible by American taxpayers. Afghanistan and Balochistan Pakistan are key elements in the CIA’s Drug Empire.
I might point out that Rob Kirby estimated that the CIA has already spent $1.4 trillion in drug profits and that this narco-subsidy to Washington DC won’t last much longer. The other thing that won’t last much longer is the inability of foreign governments to say No to US Dollars. People overseas make things. We give them worthless Dollars. They sell us more things and we give them even more worthless dollars. On the day foreigners refuse to accept dollars and say they will only take gold, SDRs or their own national currency, American wages and pensions will be cut in half.
Now you know what WW III and this dust up Qatar are all about.
There are several scandals brewing underneath the surface awareness of Corporate Fake News. Please keep in mind that Catherine Austin Fitts can prove that the people who own our governments have stolen money from us by the tens of trillions. So what makes you think they would not spend billions of dollars each year buying Fake News just so they can continue robbing you blind?
Many scandals can bring down both the Democrats and the Jared Kushner- House-Speaker Paul Ryan half of the Republican party leaving us with Donald Trump in charge of his administration.
I knew the Jewish Lobby would muscles its way into the Trump administration but what we have seen is absurd. The Jewish Lobby did not win the election. Yet they are still in charge. I wrote the following article some time ago: Israel Killed JFK And Has Ruled America Ever Since. That sort of explains why and how Israel has so much power. But fortunately, that was our past and not our future.
There is also these facts to ponder before anyone starts shooting at each other in the Persian Gulf.:
What happens if Iran and Turkey load up some freighters with food and send them to Qatar? Will the US and UK turn them back because the Saudis demand it?
The US did that in Yemen. Yemenis are dying of starvation. They have an urgent need for food and medicine. Nobody bothered to help Yemen. But Qatar has $335 billion in the Sovereign Wealth Fund and that can buy a lot of influence.
What happens if there are armed Turkish and Iranian Revolutionary Guard soldiers on board the ships? A handheld missile could do a lot of damage to a ship’s radio and radar.
Now suppose they are accompanied by 2 dozen drones armed with missiles and/or 500 pound bombs? The Iranians have developed a fleet of armed drones. What will the US Navy do?
What if a formation of Iranian warships accompanies the freighters and the drones? We could take on 2 dozen drones and a half dozen warships. But what if the Iranians launch 2 to 3 thousand fast boats and dozens more drones concentrating their presence on the nearby US Persian Gulf fleet? Iran can sink that entire fleet in minutes without the help of the Russians though Putin would never give his permission. But things could spiral out of control quickly when modern militaries confront each other.
What if a Russian destroyer accompanies the Iranian ships and drones? And what if a Russian plane armed with Khibiny flies overhead? Khibiny scrambles our radio and radio communications so they cannot see a target to shoot.
The weekend could be a disaster for the Jared Kushner Trump administration. But maybe not. ISIS attacked Tehran recently. This may be an attempt to push Iran towards war. Your leaders aren’t exactly bright because there is no guarantee the US could win a shootout in the Persian Gulf.
Nothing will happen today because the Emir of Kuwait is in Qatar today. So what happens this weekend? Not sure.
Update: Nothing will happen until Sunday. On Saturday the Qatar Foreign Minister will meet with Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
But a disaster for the Jared Kushner Trump regime might be a great blessing for Americans outside of Washington DC.
Before concluding I should say that I would vote for Trump again. I voted against Bush in 2000, 20014, against Insane McCain in 2008 and Romney in 2012. I did not expect such a large Jewish Lobby presence in the Trump admin. No. I never voted for Obama.
In conclusion I expect Jared Kushner and the Jews who run both political parties to flee Washington before the US Ship of State sinks in 2018.
I still maintain that the Dollar will collapse before election Day 2018. Scandals from pedophilia to the Clinton Foundation and NSA spying on Americans will bring down both political parties. That will leave Trump in charge.
It will be on us to take down the Federal Reserve and the Fake News media so we can get the change in monetary policy we need to prevent 10 million Americans from starving to death. Need I remind you that without Debt Cancellation and a change in the Federal Reserve Act to permit the return of Greenbacks, millions of us will die of starvation.
America will die if we do not run the Jewish Lobby out of Washington DC.

The Standard American Diet is all about junk food, processed, and genetically modified foods, which can cause countless problems to our body and health. Instead of nutrients, this type of diet contains many damaging ingredients, which affect the pH balance in the body. While the body’s environment should be alkaline, eating such unhealthy foods makes it acidic. It is, therefore, more vulnerable to diseases since the immune system is seriously weakened. So, to improve your overall health, you should increase the consumption of alkalizing food.
These are the top 5 alkaline foods you can eat:
1) Olive Oil
Olive oil is super rich in vitamin E as well as monounsaturated fatty acids.
Melons not only cleanse the colon but are also extremely alkaline, as their pH level is 8.5. Moreover, watermelons are high in fiber and consist 92% of water.
3) Flax Seed
Flax seeds are high in vitamin E and fiber. They also alkalize the body, soothe inflammation, and lower hot flashes in menopause.
4) Swiss Chard
Swiss Chard has powerful antibacterial and antiviral properties. It can also prevent damage caused by free radicals.
Buckwheat is an ideal wheat replacement. It’s also great to eat for breakfast since it energizes your body and prevents cardiovascular diseases.
The following list includes 20 other alkalizing foods you should eat more often:
– Carrots – high in beta-carotene and improve eyesight.
– Mango – cleanses the colon.
– Sauerkraut – rich in probiotics.
– Pineapple – helps weight loss.
– Cucumber – moisturizes the skin, keeps the body hydrated, and helps skin health.
– Grapefruit – great source of many vitamins.
– Parsley – cleanses the intestines.
– Quinoa – regulates blood sugars.
– Berries – rich source of antioxidants.
– Papaya – acts as a laxative and cleanses the colon.
– Avocado – high in healthy monounsaturated fats that support heart health.
–Ripe bananas – amazing healthy superfoods.
– Brussels Sprouts – can prevent cancer.
-Alfalfa Sprouts – balance hormones, provide enzymes, easy to digest.
– Garlic – has countless health properties, including blood pressure control.
– Steamed broccoli – reduces cholesterol.
– Seaweeds – rich in iron and alkalize the body.
– Grapes – rich in antioxidants and vitamins, and lower blood pressure.
– Spinach – has the highest amounts of vitamins.
– Lemons– rich in vitamin C, fight the flu, colds, and cough.
A SUDDEN REALIZATION
When someone first smokes cannabis, and the conditions are right, something remarkable and concerning happens… The user is suddenly thrust upon a world of wonder, relaxation, humor, passion, creativity, and perhaps even gnosis. The cannabis trance dissolves the invisible bars of a psychic prison held together by an ignorant and incorrect drug education program and rhetoric. It opens a gateway to seeing how demented, contorted, and flat out wrong much of what they have been told about the world truly is.
Next thing you know, that same kid who was smoking marijuana starts reading about philosophy and history and questioning authority. Maybe they will even go so far as to eat LSD or magic mushrooms and reconnect themselves with an inner spiritual authority that can completely dismantle the socially conditioned obedience, stupidity, and mediocrity that it has taken generations to establish!
Ok, maybe I went too far in my parody there, but in all seriousness, that paragraph above isn’t too far from the mentality of the early years of cannabis prohibition and was a major contributor to the US President Nixon’s launching of the War On Drugs in 1971. The deviant behavior of young people in the early era of cannabis prohibition was a strong factor that led to its criminalization. During Nixon’s era, the spread of cannabis use, as well as LSD (an extension of Beat culture, which was an extension of early Jazz culture), was rampant among anti-war and civil rights activists, which was a threat to the established power that needed to be squashed.
Going back even further, in the 20s and 30s, cannabis was seen as a social danger jeopardizing racial segregation, its use was associated with young white people fraternizing with people of color, enjoying their music and attending their events, which was very concerning to the white elitist ideals of the United States government. The first US drug Czar, Harry J. Anslinger, who is responsible for the very first legislation banning cannabis use in the Untied States, is also responsible for the films like Reefer Madness, the perception of drug addiction as a criminal matter rather than a health concern, and quotes such as “Marijuana is the most violence-causing drug in the history of mankind” and “reefer makes darkies think they are as good as white men”.
Cannabis—the safest, easiest to access, and most widely known drug to the counter culture in those times (and even still)—was indeed a truly dangerous ‘gateway’ drug.
The foundations of modern day prohibition come from a history of lies, racism, unjust laws, and political rhetoric. Despite cannabis’ impending pseudo-clemency, these ever-present origins continue to echo through institutional drug education and into the minds of young people. The manner in which we educate our youth on cannabis usage remains driven by fallacious drug prohibition rhetoric.
Despite its incredibly long history of use alongside the human species, the establishment of its criminality being forged by corporate manipulation and fanatical racism, despite the reality of how reasonably mitigated and few the harms of cannabis are, it gets tossed the same category as heroin and cocaine, “illicit drugs.” This needs to change and one of the first things we need to do is to stop pretending that cannabis is a dangerous drug. It’s not.
Although making responsible choices in our usage to avoid unintentional harm is important, cannabis is a very safe drug. In fact, vastly safer than most of the drugs that will be prescribed to us by our doctors throughout the course of our lives.
We cannot continue to simply blanket all “illicit drugs” as holding the same risks and dangers. A clear differentiation between the potential harms and dangers across the vast spectrum of different drugs needs to be made (this is called “harm reduction”). When we don’t do this, and cannabis gets lumped in with the rest, then not only will the potential dangers and potential benefits of cannabis get lost in the mess of falsity, politics, and propaganda that constitute the majority of our society’s paradigm around “drugs;” but the disillusionment of youth educated into a broken drug paradigm that denigrates cannabis alongside heroin will set them up for risky behavior and dangerous choices.
We are moving in the right direction when we are moving into legalization here in Canada (although the government still has ample opportunity to make a dysfunctional mess of it all). But along with our progression into legal access for responsible adults, we as adults need to progress into educating our children how to be responsible. That starts with learning the facts (and releasing the rhetoric and lies) and speaking honestly with our youth.
In the same way that we shouldn’t teach our children Santa Clause is real knowing full well we are lying for what we pretend is their benefit but is only in favor of our own self-interest, we shouldn’t teach children cannabis is a dangerous drug like heroin and meth, knowing full well that isn’t true either.
We should educate ourselves properly so we can tell them the truth and then, in having earned their trust by way of our integrity, offer them guidance that helps them make responsible, well-informed, and mature choices.
