Ah yes, ain’t profit-motivated science just the grandest thing. All the political grandstanding aside, and all the wars for whatever reason being drummed up and fought, the real war against the earth is being fought at a much more mundane, much more deadly, level: technology gone rogue in the hands of banksters and investors. We’re all involved in this spreading killer war, as workers and consumers. If we’re not killing the planet with technology, we’re fringe, not relevant. I can write this because I am using a killer technology: plastic. We’ve been warned, time and again. Fukushima is another warning; perhaps more than a warning since it has the potential to kill the entire Pacific ocean; all that lives around it, in it, and from it. Fukushima is that “alien” threat that should be uniting the world to finding a solution because if no solution is found, any other “progress” can only demonstrate man’s short-sighted visions and abysmal ignorance of cause and effect in nature.

Looking back to my environmental activist days, late sixties and early seventies… and smugly thinking, “Told you so!” But of course in those halcyon days of easy jobs and fake inflationary money, we were fear-mongering conspiracy theorists. We opposed unchecked growth in all sectors; we opposed the nuclear industry; we cautioned against exponential population expansion; we predicted that the MIC would gobble up most of the world’s riches making the few richer, the many poorer; we cautioned against globalism and city life completely dependent upon power grids and centralized transportation for survival. We said, in effect, that today’s planetary human lifestyle was unsustainable, unhealthy, and doomed to extinction. Fukushima is our graffiti showing up in glowing radiation colors. Ask me, do I feel sorry for the 7.4 billion numbties crawling all over their dying anthill today? No. They made their smug choices, and continue to do so despite all evidence that their way of life is doomed. They don’t care, why should I?

  3. Well, it looks as if we won’t have to worry for long about climate change; if they can’t figure out how to contain this, no life will be left on the planet by the time the worst of it hits… In fact, I think the next acronymic meme we’ll see go viral is this: WMAWJBOAKOAG…. (We May As Well Bend Over And Kiss Our Asses Goodbye)….

SIGH… Silly monkeys…. Truly, we are Homo Suicidus….
