I wish someone would have told me when I was younger that none of this matters.
If you still have an open mind:
Something tells me we are not done with this chemical wonder. Some mad scientist invented this formula in his hell cave. He, it’s always a he, left the patent to his offspring, who all look like Justin Bieber and the Brits Spear, and now the US gov and all the bad terrorists out there know how to produce it. That is not funny at all.
It’s not police brutality anymore, it’s police stupidity…

Durham, NC — A video has surfaced online showing police abuse a family inside their own home.
According to preliminary reports, police did not have a search warrant.
They entered the private residence without a warrant because they claimed to “smell weed,” reports say.
Toward the beginning of the video a teen boy can be seen limping toward the camera and stating that an officer used a gun to beat him in the head.Another young man can be heard saying that he was beaten with a billy club.
Vera McGriff, who was filming the incident, confirms that she witnessed both assaults.
Moments later, several officers can be seen marching up her carpeted stairway toward her children’s bedrooms.
Vera served in the US Military for over a decade and attempted to intelligently de-escalate the situation while documenting everything. At one point, an officer can be heard leveling accusations regarding marijuana, to which Vera responds that the smell could have been produced by incense.
Vera asks the officers where the supposed weed is, and no response can be heard from the officers.
It goes without saying, but even if there were marijuana in the house, does ingesting a plant inside of one’s own home justify government agents breaking in at a moment’s notice and pilfering around?
Does it justify them beating you and your children with guns and batons, shoving you to the ground, and tasering your family repeatedly?
Marijuana has caused zero deaths and legal substances such as alcohol, Tylenol, and sugar can actually be far more harmful to one’s health — in fact all three of those substances have resulted in many deaths.Police often boost their arrest records by targeting non-violent citizens who ingest cannabis, and good arrest records could result in career promotions, increases in salary, and recognition as being “tough on crime.”
It is therefore unsurprising that many police and their organized unions and supporters would continue promoting the War on Drugs.
Toward the end of the video, screams can be heard as the family members are shoved to the ground and tasered.
Officers begin shouting commands as if they are drill sergeants, awaiting any chance to use more violent force.
“We all sat in handcuffs for 4-5 hours while they waited for the search warrant …Everybody was tased, one officer hit my son in the face with his Glock 9, we were choked, kicked, thrown down on the floor,” said Vera.
The officers on the other hand are claiming that they were “assaulted,” yet the video does not show this.Watch the full unedited video below:

ST. LOUIS — Monsanto Corporation, the agribusiness giant best known for its pesticides and genetically-modified crops, also manufactured white phosphorous for the U.S. government over at least the past 20 years. Used in incendiary military weapons, the United States sold white phosphorous-based weapons to Israel, which used those weapons to commit brutal war crimes against Palestinians living in Gaza in 2009.
White phosphorous is created from phosphorous through industrial processes — it is not a naturally occurring substance. Exposure can cause severe and often fatal burns, or other complications such as organ failure, with even survivors suffering from long-term health effects.
In addition to its use in weapons, white phosphorous is also used to create phosphoric acid, a key ingredient in some fertilizers, which likely explains why Monsanto would manufacture the substance.
At one point, Monsanto was the only U.S.-based firm manufacturing the substance. This, of course, caught the military’s attention.
According to heavily redacted government documents revealed by the blog Current Events Inquiry, the U.S. government saw Monsanto as a key supplier, fearing that global politics might interfere with the ability to import the substance from China or India, where most white phosphorous is manufactured due to flimsy environmental protections and oversight. The documents, originally posted on the U.S. Federal Business Opportunities website, state that because of this key role, Monsanto could require special government protections “in the event of a national emergency.”
Further evidence of Monsanto’s role in manufacturing white phosphorous can be found in a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services report from 1997, “Toxicological Profile For White Phosphorous,” which lists Monsanto facilities that store hundreds of thousands of pounds of the toxic chemical. The document also outlines some of the dangerous effects of white phosphorous: in addition to fatal or serious burns, exposure can result in chronic health problems, damage to the immune system, birth defects, and neurological damage.
Monsanto sold white phosphorous to the U.S. military’s Pine Bluff Arsenal, where it is stored in underwater tanks and manufactured into munitions. Then, the U.S. military sold white phosphorous to Israel, where it was used in war crimes during Israel’s “Cast Lead” offensive, which killed thousands of civilians from Dec. 27, 2008 to Jan. 18, 2009.
“The use of white phosphorus is not in and of itself a war crime, and is generally considered acceptable as a means of obscuring troop movements or illuminating areas. Its use in civilian areas however, even if not directed at the civilian population, is banned under the Geneva Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons.”
Yet Israel had flaunted international law once again, using white phosphorous rounds over some of Gaza’s most “densely populated areas,” according to a March 2009 report from Human Rights Watch, despite acknowledging that white phosphorous can cause horrific burns and fatal health complications:
“A medical report prepared during the recent hostilities by the Israeli ministry of health said that white phosphorus ‘can cause serious injury and death when it comes into contact with the skin, is inhaled or is swallowed.’ Burns on less than 10 percent of the body can be fatal because of damage to the liver, kidneys, and heart, the ministry report says. Infection is common and the body’s absorption of the chemical can cause serious damage to internal organs, as well as death.
If the IDF intended to use white phosphorus as a smokescreen for its forces, it had a readily available non-lethal alternative to white phosphorus – smoke shells produced by an Israeli company, Human Rights Watch concluded.”
The same documents revealed by Current Events Inquiry show that Israel is taking a more direct role in the manufacture of white phosphorous today, now supplying it to the U.S. government via ICL Performance Products, a subsidiary of Israel Chemicals Ltd., which in turn can be traced back to the Ofer brothers, the country’s wealthiest family.
As for Monsanto, this is not the only time the corporation’s products have been linked to war crimes or cancer. The company was recently sued for manufacturing PCBs, a lingering environmental carcinogen, andglyphosate, a key ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup pesticide, may contribute to cancer. And the U.S. government used 20 million gallons of Monsanto’s “Agent Orange” defoliant during the Vietnam War, the effects of which continue to linger even today.

May all war criminals end up in hell for eternity!
Dear America, go home and feed your poor, fix your roads and bridges, but go home!
“The video shows a pair of Su-24 bombers making an overflight of the US ship at a very low attitude, indicating the planes may have approached the ship undetected by radar.”
Yay. Gotta love fake manufactured horror.
Russians do a dry strafing run on a US destroyer in the Baltic (as in the sea that Russia’s second city and the old capital of Saint Petersburg lies on) and American military pretends this is such a horrific thing that it makes CNN.
To demonstrate just how out of order the Russians supposedly were the US Navy did its best impersonation of a 12-year-old girl and took to Youtube and Twitter to cry about it. The media took over from there so that the story is now making the rounds – in a high-pitched tone meant to evoke horror an outrage.
The video shows a pair of Su-24 bombers making an overflight of the US ship at a very low attitude, indicating the planes may have approached the ship undetected by radar. Which may have been a problem for the guided missile destroyer if the jets were carrying anti-ship missiles and there was a war.
It’s not exactly a friendly act but let’s get a little context here.
Right now the US is talking up flooding Syria with anti-aircraft weapons to help kill Russian pilots. The US has also decided to deploy an armored brigade to Russia’s border 200 kilometres from downtown Saint Petersburg. Weeks ago NATO supreme allied commander wanted to fly spy planes over Russian territory.
These are just some of the latest ways in which US is showing it thinks of Russia as something like an enemy. So what exactly is it that makes the Russian’s reaction other than completely expected?
Perhaps the Russians thought the US missile destroyer was dangerously close to their second capital?

Source: The Entire Status Quo Is a Fraud
April 15, 2016
This can’t be said politely: the entire status quo in America is a fraud.
The financial system is a fraud.
The political system is a fraud.
National Defense is a fraud.
The healthcare system is a fraud.
Higher education is a fraud.
The mainstream corporate media is a fraud.
Culture–from high to pop–is a fraud.
Need I go on?
We have come to accept fraud as standard operating practice in America, to the detriment of everything that was once worthy. why is this so?
One reason, which I outline in my book A Radically Beneficial World: Automation, Technology and Creating Jobs for All, is that centralized hierarchies select for fraud and incompetence. Now that virtually every system in America is centralized or regulated by centralized hierarchies, every system in America is fraudulent and incompetent.
Nassim Taleb explains this further in his recent article How To Legally Own Another Person (via Lew G.)
The three ingredients of fraud are abundant: pressure (to get an A, to please your boss, to make your sales numbers, etc.), rationalization (everybody’s doing it) and opportunity.
Taleb explains why failure and fraud become the status quo:admitting error and changing course are risky, and everyone who accepts the servitude of working in a centralized hierarchy–by definition, obedience to authority is the #1 requirement– is averse to risk.
As as I explain in my book, these systems select for risk aversion and the appearance of obedience to rules and authority while maximizing personal gain: in other words, fraud as a daily way of life.
Truth is a dangerous poison in centralized hierarchies: anyone caught telling the truth risks a tenner in bureaucratic Siberia. (In the Soviet Gulag ,a tenner meant a ten-year sentence to a labor camp in Siberia.)
And so the truth is buried, sent to a backwater for further study, obfuscated by jargon, imprisoned by a Top Secret stamp, or simply taken out and executed.Everyone in the system maximizes his/her personal gain by going along with the current trajectory, even if that trajectory is taking the nation off the cliff.
Consider the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, a $1+ trillion failure. The aircraft is underpowered, under-armed, insanely overpriced, insanely over-budget and still riddled with bugs after seven years of fixes, making it an unaffordable maintenance nightmare that puts our service people and nation at risk.
But no one in a position of power will speak the truth about the F-35, because it is no longer a weapons system–it’s a jobs program. Defense contractors are careful to spread the work of assembling parts of the F-35 to 40+ states, so 80+ senators will support the program, no matter how much a failure it is as a weapons system, or how costly the failure is becoming.
A rational person in charge would immediately cancel it and start from scratch, with a program run outside the Pentagon and outside congressional meddling. But this is impossible in America: instead, we build failed, under-armored, under-powered, under-armed and unreliable ships (LCS) and failed under-powered, under-armed and unreliable fighters as the most expensive make-work programs in history.
As for our failed healthcare system, one anecdote will do. (You undoubtedly have dozens from your own experience.) A friend from Uruguay with a high-tech job in the U.S. recently flew home to Montevideo for a medical exam because 1) the cost of the flight was cheaper than the cost of the care in the U.S. and 2) she was seen the next day in Montevideo while it would have taken two months to get the same care in the U.S.
I’ve listed dozens of examples here over the years: $120,000 for a couple days in a hospital, no procedures performed; $20,000+ for a single emergency room visit, no procedures performed; several thousand dollars charged to Medicare for a few minutes in an “observation room” that was occupied by patients, no staff present–the list is endless.
We’ve habituated to fraud as a way of life because every system is fraudulent.Consider the costly scam known as higher education. The two essentials higher education should teach are: 1) how to learn anything you need to learn or want to learn on your own, and 2) how to think, behave, plan and function entrepreneurially (i.e. as an autonomous problem-solver and lifelong learner who cooperates and collaborates productively with others) as a way of life.
That higher education fails to do so is self-evident. We could create a highly effective system of higher education that costs 10% of the current corrupt system. I’ve described such a system (in essence, a directed apprenticeship as opposed to sitting in a chair for four years) in The Nearly Free University and the Emerging Economy: The Revolution in Higher Education.
As for what passes as culture in the U.S.: the majority of what’s being sold as culture, both high and low, is derivative and forgettable. We suffer the dual frauds of absurd refinement (so only the elites can “appreciate” the art, music, food, wine, etc.) and base coarsening: instead of Tender (romantic love and sex) we have Tinder (flammable trash).
Fraud as a way of life caters an extravagant banquet of consequences. While everyone maximizes their personal gain in whatever system of skim, scam and fraud they inhabit, the nation rots from within. We’ve lost our way, and lost the ability to tell the truth, face problems directly, abandon what has failed and what is unaffordable, and accept personal risk as the essential element of successful adaptation.
Here’s a good place to start: require every politician to wear the logos of their top 10 contributors–just like NASCAR drivers and vehicles display the logos of their sponsors. The California Initiative to make this a reality is seeking signatures of registered California voters. Since politicians are owned, let’s make the ownership transparent.
Officers have been involved in the abduction and murder of 43 students two years ago, says Tales from the Lou. I re-wrote this paragraph to reflect the truth of it all. It has been said that no Mexican president ever leaves office without at least 100 million dollars in his pocket. Mexico at least does not pretend too loudly that it is a corrupt state, unlike its hypocritical neighbor up North.
15 Apr 2016
Federal police may have been involved in the abduction and murder of 43 students in Guerrero state two years ago, Mexico has said for the first time.
The admission comes after its national human rights commission found a witness who came forward with evidence.
The witness reported that two federal police and a third municipal police force were present when the students were taken off a bus and may have even participated in their disappearance, Jose Larrieta Carrasco, the commission member leading the case, said.
Thursday’s announcement added a new twist to a probe that has come under fire from international human rights groups and independent investigators.
The attorney general said the students had been taken by the corrupt officers and given to a drug cartel, who killed them and dumped their bodies, adding that the announcement would “deepen” this “line of investigation”.
International investigators say there is no evidence to support this.
A federal police statement said the allegations were not new and that all officers present in the region that night gave statements, but that “for the moment” no wrongdoing was found against any agents.
Prosecutors have already charged municipal police officers in connection with the mass abduction in Iguala, a city in Guerrero, on September 26-27, 2014.
The bus was one of five that around 100 students had seized that night to use for a future protest. Iguala police officers opened fire on the buses before the students disappeared.
The commission said the police fired on the tires of the bus that stopped near the courthouse, prompting the students to toss rocks at the police.
The officers bundled the students into several patrol vehicles, including three from Huitzuco.
When the federal officers arrived, they asked what was going on.
An Iguala officer said the students would be sent to Huitzuco, where “the boss” – possibly a drug cartel member – would “decide what to do with them”, the commission said.
The federal officers responded, “Ah, OK, that’s good,” and allowed the local police to take the students away.
Huitzuco would be a new location in the saga, as authorities have maintained that suspects told investigators that the students were killed in the nearby town of Cocula.
The commission said there was enough evidence to “presume the participation of members of the Huitzuco municipal police and two federal police officers” in the disappearance, adding that it has the name of one of the two federal agents, which it gave to prosecutors.
The commission also said a soldier on a motorcycle took pictures of the incident and then left. Families of the victims have called for an investigation into whether the military had a role in the case, but the army denies any wrongdoing.
In some parts of Mexico, companies have been coerced into not reporting crimes by drug gangs who threaten to attack their vehicles, offices or employees.
Deliberate fraud uncovered in antidepressant studies: Falsified data led to millions of children being poisoned by psychiatric drugs
by: Daniel Barker
April 15, 2016
(NaturalNews) In what has been termed “one of the biggest frauds in American healthcare history,” pharmaceutical giant SmithKline Beecham – now GlaxoSmithKline – was proven to have falsified data in clinical trials for an ineffective antidepressant drug that caused suicidal thoughts in more than 10 percent of children to whom it was prescribed.
Paroxetine, which was marketed under the names Paxil and Seroxat, was introduced in 2001, following the publication of a trial carried out by the company itself that claimed the drug was “generally well tolerated” by children and adolescents suffering from depression.
The drug was prescribed to more than 2 million American children the following year.
An independent re-analysis of the trial was recently conducted by The BMJ (formerly the British Medical Journal). Their research concluded that paroxetine was no more effective than a placebo and caused suicidal thoughts in 12 of 93 children who took the drug.
The new study also revealed that the company ignored data related to the increased risk of suicide and noted that the original study – known as Study 329 – was typed up by a hired medical writer while one of GSK’s senior scientists involved in the trial was being investigated by U.S. authorities for his ties to Big Pharma.
GSK was ordered to pay a record $3 billion in damages for wrongly promoting the dangerous drug between 1997 and 2004. The company paid doctors to attend events promoting Paxil and provided them with other perks, such as hunting trips and spa sessions.
The promotion effort undoubtedly was a factor leading to the subsequent overprescription of the drug to millions of children.
BMJ editor Fiona Godlee pointed out that this case is part of a widespread general practice on the part of pharmaceutical companies involving the overstating of a drug’s effectiveness while playing down dangerous side effects.
“This long running saga has within it all the seeds of our current discontent – industry malpractice, paid opinion leaders twisting the results of trials, hidden data allowing manufacturers, academics and clinicians to overstate the benefits and underplay the harms of treatment,” Godlee said, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Other researchers have reached similar conclusions.
A recent study, published in the Journal of Clinical Epidemiology, evaluated 185 meta-analyses, and found that one third of them were written by pharma industry employees, who were 22 times less likely to have negative statements about a drug than unaffiliated researchers. Almost 80 percent of the studies had some sort of industry tie, either through sponsorship (funding of the study), or conflicts of interest, where one or more authors were either industry employees or independent researchers receiving industry support (speaking fees, grants, etc.).
In a 2006 study examining industry impact on clinical trials of psychiatric medications, industry-sponsored trials reported favorable outcomes 78% of the time, compared with 48% in independently funded trials. Antidepressants are one of the largest pharmaceutical markets, yet it is likely that the problem of scientific fraud extends to other drugs and vaccines. The need for oversight (government and industry) is increasingly obvious.
These figures tell the whole story. If industry-sponsored trials are 40 percent more likely to produce favorable results than independent trials, then clearly something is wrong with the system.
Allowing the pharmaceutical industry to conduct its own clinical trials with no independent reviews or governmental oversight is a recipe for disaster. Pharmaceutical drugs kill tens of thousands of people each year.
Lately, the FDA has been busy going after the makers of natural dietary supplements and calling their products unsafe. Meanwhile, the big drug companies get a free pass to market their poison – even when they know it kills children.

Gilles Milot says 2015 was an especially busy year, and the numbers back him up.
As perhaps the most prominent UFOlogist in Quebec, Milot is responsible for collating and submitting UFO sighting data to the Winnipeg-based UFOlogy Research’s annual Canadian UFO Survey. Its 2015 report revealed that last year had the second-most UFO sightings in the past 30 years.
With 1,267 reported across the country, and almost a third of those coming from Quebec, only 2012—the year of the Mayan doomsday calendar, remember that?—had more unexplained encounters over the last three decades.
As the head of the Laval-based Association Québécoise d’Ufologie, it was his job to evaluate and, if necessary, coordinate the investigations of UFO sightings across the province. Safe to say, Milot had his hands full.
He says he was personally involved in about 20 on-site investigations last year, out of close to 100 province-wide—about a quarter of all reported sightings in Quebec—deemed worth further follow-up.
“About three-quarters of the calls we get involve lights in the sky,” he told VICE. Of those, about half can be written off as either explainable or coming from an unreliable witness. He says there isn’t much point in digging deeper into lights-in-the-sky sightings due to lack of physical evidence.
But he says he has seen stuff that can make your hairs stand on end and defy scientific explanation. He’s heard about things like close encounters of the third kind, of strange animal behavior, of crop-circle-like traces of burned or discolored grass, and more shit for M. Night Shyamalan to abuse on film. (And no, he wasn’t just swept up in all the hype surrounding the X-Files reboot.)
When asked why Quebec took the lead in sightings last year, Milot, rather humbly, takes the credit (or blame, depending on your point of view).
He says one event received mention in the mainstream press, and his group’s name was mentioned. After the story appeared, he said calls started flooding in. He tracked and responded to them all, and he maintains a log of sightings he considers reliable on his website (all conversations are confidential). He thinks that more and more people are becoming more and more willing to discuss the phenomenon without fear of ridicule.
“We did a lot of outreach in 2015,” he says. Until recently, “a lot of people didn’t want to discuss their sightings because they were scared they would be laughed at. But when they come to our website, they see that they are not alone.” His group also hosts monthly meetings where UFO-related matters are discussed.
Open-minded as he evidently is, Milot knows some of the claims, if not most, are hard to believe, and that skeptics need to be won over. For every Mulder, there are thousands of Scullys.
One of the latter is Dr. Joe Schwarcz, at McGill University’s Office of Science and Society. He says he believes in UFOs—inasmuch as we stick to the literal definition. “You could see something go by your window,” he says, “and it would be an unidentified flying object until you realize it was your neighbor’s Frisbee.
“Most of the time it’s just a strange cloud formation, or the reflection of light, a rocket launch, an unusual view of a planet, most likely Venus—or it could be outright fraud.”
He admits that some incidents require deeper explanations. “But that doesn’t mean it’s an extraterrestrial spacecraft.”
Not that Schwarcz believes extraterrestrial life does not exist. In fact, he thinks it would be “very arrogant to think that we’re the only species of life in the universe. The universe contains billions of stars, so statistically, it’s unlikely [we’re alone]. But it’s also not likely that we’ve been visited by extraterrestrials because of the distances involved.” Alpha Centauri, the nearest star to our own, is about 26 trillion miles away.
“The laws of physics won’t be transcended—we won’t travel faster than the speed of light,” he continues. On the other hand, “You never want to say something is impossible, because there are mysteries. You might have time warps, or God knows what else, but it’s very unlikely.
“The scientific community is not opposed to looking into the subject—it’s fascinating to us.” ET life, he says, “Is a very seductive idea. But seductive ideas aren’t proof.”
While Milot admits there’s a lack of physical proof of ET visits, that hasn’t stopped him believing that aliens probably have been to Earth. “There are so many elements in people’s stories,” he says, “that don’t have a logical explanation.”
Any alien life form that might visit Earth, he says, “would be thousands of years ahead of us, so they could easily make the journey. They’d just look at us like we look at ants.”

OMG, OMG, OMG! There should be a warning against these kids’ funnies. Holy cow, how many pedophiles hide in the children’s entertainment business? More importantly, is this done on purpose, with an agenda? I should include the following warning:
Warning: You must be at least 30 years old and accompanied by an old aunt in order to view the following:
Squidward doesn’t wear pants because his penis is on his face. Let’s face it, everything that we thought about our childhood cartoons being innocent, clean fun is out the window.
These animators didn’t know it, but eventually, we’d all grow up to understand exactly what we were staring at on those TVs.
Whether we were watching an after-school episode of “SpongeBob SquarePants” or a commercial for an episode of “Care Bears,” all of these shows had some kind of inappropriate hidden agenda.
Thanks to the Internet, we can all go back and recap exactly how absurd some of these cartoons actually were. Would you want your little sister, brother or child watching these kinds of things?
After all, “a child’s brain is like a sponge,” right? Check out the photos below, you won’t believe your eyes.
Why couldn’t Nickelodeon just show Angelica actually brushing her teeth?
Why did a giant fish have to squirt on the “Magic School Bus”?
Is it appropriate to make Jerry swim up Tom’s butt?
Seriously? You animators aren’t even trying to be discreet here.
Miley Cyrus isn’t to blame for the existence of twerking. Our childhood cartoons are.
How was this type of stuff even allowed to be on TV?
Let’s just say that whenever the Angry Beavers decided to “wrestle” each other, they didn’t “wrestle” at all.
She was positioned way too low to be kissing his mouth.
How do you ruin “Tom & Jerry”? Like this:
Everything was perverted back in the 90s. This is just proof.
Yeah, let’s just expose kids to masturbating cartoons. That seems like a great idea.
Here’s how you ruin “Toy Story” for everyone:
When innocent cartoons weren’t being sexualized, they were being racist:
SpongeBob SquarePants blew up condoms to form Squidward and you didn’t even realize it. Shocked?
Technically, Rocko was a sex worker.
This is self-explanatory. Thanks Cinderella!
The Powerpuff Girls figured out the male species before anyone did.
Wow. Just wow.
Eh, Helga was always a bit weird. Are you surprised?
Explain this though, Donald!
That awkward moment when you realize Timon and Pumbaa were narrating a sex scene.
If you didn’t realize the Teletubbies were PBS’ version of softcore porn, you were incredibly oblivious.
That time Buzz Lightyear got a boner without getting a boner.
Oh, “Harry Potter,” how innocent… Wait, these are awkwardly placed footsteps. What were they really doing?!
Before you knew what “accidents” were…
Nick At Nite, where the teachers’ names are sexual innuendos.
Louis Pickles used to watch fantasy porn. There, I said it.
Here’s Donald Duck getting pummeled.
What’s the giant puddle of white stuff, Daffy?
Those aren’t wings.
Wow, the Care Bears must really care about each other.
I bet you didn’t even notice that was a crane.
There you have it. Childhood ruined.
“All things are poison, and nothing is without poison”
Don’t forget to wash your hands.
Senior Lecturer in Chemistry, University of Birmingham
When asked to name a poison, people may well think of cyanide, arsenic or strychnine. But these are not the most toxic substances known. More poisonous than these, but still not near the top of the tree, is tetrodotoxin, the pufferfish toxin that poisons around 50 Japanese people every year. The fish is a delicacy in Japan, but can be lethal if prepared incorrectly. Incidentally, this was the poison favoured by evil assassin Rosa Klebb in James Bond film From Russia With Love. It also crops up in the blue-ringed octopus and was more recently discovered in tiny frogs in Brazil.
The LD50 (Lethal Dose, 50%) – the amount needed to kill 50% of the test population – is how toxicity is most often assessed, and is usually quoted per kilogram of body weight. On this scale, for example, sodium cyanide comes out at around 6 milligrams per kg. The LD50 of tetrodoxotin, by comparison, is around 300 micrograms per kg if orally ingested, and as little as 10 micrograms per kg if injected.
Assessing toxicity is not easy. The chemical state of a substance is important, as is how we ingest it. If we swallowed liquid mercury metal (as distinct from inhaling the vapour), it would very likely pass straight through us harmlessly. And yet when in 1996 an American professor got just a drop or two of the compound dimethyl mercury on her rubber gloves, it penetrated the gloves and her skin, sending her into a fatal coma some months later.
Nevertheless, here is a representative selection, in ascending order, of five truly deadly poisons, all at least a hundred times more toxic than cyanide, arsenic or strychnine.
This extremely toxic plant poison was famously used to kill the Bulgarian dissident Georgi Markov, exiled in London. On September 7 1978, he was waiting for a bus near Waterloo Bridge, when he felt an impact on the back of his right thigh. Looking round he saw a man bending down to pick up an umbrella. Markov was soon taken to hospital with a high fever – and died three days later. An autopsy revealed a tiny sphere made of a platinum-iridium alloy in Markov’s thigh. The sphere had been drilled to take a small amount of ricin and may have been fired from an air gun hidden in the umbrella.
Ricin is obtained from the beans of the castor oil plant (Ricinus communis), which is cultivated to extract the oil – the ricin remains in the solid fibre. It is a glycoprotein that interferes with protein synthesis in the cell, causing cell death. It has an LD50 of 1-20 milligrams per kg if orally ingested, but far less is required to kill if inhaled or injected (as in Markov’s case).
The only synthetic compound in our top five, VX is a nerve agent with the consistency of engine oil. It emerged from ICI’s research into new insecticides in the early 1950s but proved too toxic to use in agriculture. VX kills by interfering with the transmission of nerve messages between cells; this requires a molecule called acetylcholine. After acetylcholine has passed on its message, it needs to be broken down (otherwise it will keep sending the message) by an enzyme catalyst called acetylcholinesterase. VX and other nerve agents stop this enzyme from working, so muscle contractions go out of control and you die of asphyxiation.
Nerve agents were made by both sides during the Cold War, but VX became particularly well-known after featuring in Hollywood blockbuster film The Rock. Only one person is known to have been killed by VX, a former member of the Aum Shinrikyo cult, though some 4,000 sheep were killed by it in an accident in Skull Valley, Utah in 1968. It has an LD50 of as little as 3 micrograms per kg (although some reports suggest the figure is a little higher).
We’ve all heard of South American Indians using venom-tipped blowpipes to hunt their prey. Curare is the best known, and comes from a plant. The most toxic, however, come from the skins of tiny frogs – and the deadliest of all is Batrachotoxin.
Native Indians in Western Colombia collect these frogs – golden Phyllobates terribilis and multicoloured Phyllobates bicolor – and sweat out the poison over a fire before putting it on their darts. The LD50 is around 2 micrograms per kg, meaning that an amount the size of two grains of table salt will kill you.
Batrachotoxin kills by interfering with sodium ion channels in the cells of muscles and nerves, jamming them open so that they do not close. The continued migration of Na+ ions results ultimately in heart failure.
Interestingly, captive-born frogs of these species are not poisonous, suggesting that the poison is derived from their diet. Indeed, nearly 30 years ago, Jack Dumbacher, an American ornithologist, was working in Papua New Guinea when he was scratched on the hand by one of the local Pitohui birds. He instinctively put his hand to his mouth, which started to go numb. Eventually, it was found that these birds – on the opposite side of the world to Colombia – have plumage containing the same poisonous molecule as the frogs. It is thought that both the birds and frogs obtain the toxin from the beetles they eat – although the poison is far less potent in the birds
There are a number of potent marine toxins, such as Saxitoxin, which are often the cause of poisoning after eating contaminated shellfish. These are often associated with harmful algal blooms in the sea.
Maitotoxin is the most lethal of these substances, reckoned to have a LD50 about an order of magnitude less than batrachotoxin. Formed by a dinoflagellate, a kind of marine plankton, it has a very complicated structure, which presents a massive challenge to synthetic chemists. Maitotoxin is a cardiotoxin, it exerts its effects by increasing the flow of calcium ions through the cardiac muscle membrane, causing heart failure.
Scientists differ about the relative toxicities of substances, but they seem to agree that botulinum toxin, produced by anaerobic bacteria, is the most toxic substance known. Its LD50 is tiny – at most 1 nanogram per kilogram can kill a human. Extrapolating from its effect on mice, an intravenous dose of just 10-7g would be fatal to a 70kg person.
It was first identified as a cause of food poisoning due to incorrectly prepared sausage (Latin, botulus) in late-18th century Germany. There are several botulinum toxins, with type A being the most potent. These are polypeptides, consisting of over 1,000 amino acid molecules joined together. They cause muscle paralysis by preventing the release of the signalling molecule (neurotransmitter) acetylcholine.
This same paralysing property is fundamental to the clinical use of the botulinum toxin in cosmetic Botox. Targeted injections of tiny amounts of the toxin stop particular muscles from working, relaxing muscles that would otherwise cause wrinkly skin. But it has also been applied to a range of clinical conditions, such as paralysing muscles that, if untreated, would cause crossed eyes (strabismus).
There is increasing interest in using the properties of toxic substances medicinally. The venom of the lethal Brazilian pit viper, Bothrops jararaca, for example, contains blood-pressure reducing molecules that have led to pioneering treatments for high blood pressure.
As Paracelsus is reported to have said 500 years ago: “All things are poison, and nothing is without poison: the dose alone makes a thing not poison.” And he had a point. Ultimately, we are surrounded by potentially dangerous substances – it’s the dose that makes it deadly.

through a variety of methods. In an earlier article The Top 4 Reasons for the Bees Dying Off, I discussed how neonicotinoid pesticides, GMOs, EMFs (electromagnetic fields) and geoengineering were all contributing to disrupting and killing bees, through phenomena like CCD (Colony Collapse Disorder). Mankind is gravely endangering its own survival on the planet by injuring the bees like this, since we are all dependent on bees for pollination and our food supply. Einstein famously said that humanity would only survive for 4 years if the bees were wiped out. There may well be more than 4 ways in which humanity is killing bees, but a recent interview with Gabe Cruz (a former cell phone industry worker who has become a kind of whistleblower and interspecies communicator) reveals that one of these threats may be the greatest of all.
In an interview with Miles Johnston, Gabe revealed that he used to work in the mobile or cell phone industry in Britain, and was trained to understand frequencies and bandwidth. As part of his job, he used to carry around a backpack containing all sorts of devices of varying frequencies. Not surprisingly, being so close to so much artificial EMF and RF (radio frequencies) affected his mood, health, behavior and entire life. He later quit his job. What makes this story so interesting is that Gabe was telepathically contacted by the bees, or the bee consciousness, with a crucial message. (Animal communicators such as Anna Breytenbach are able to contact the collective consciousness of other species, which speaks to them in one voice).
The bees haven’t merely communicated with Gabe; they have actively tried to make him understand, and make him experience, exactly what they are going through. This has led him to get headaches, feel disoriented, lose his train of thought and suffer a host of other unpleasant effects. It appears as though the bees, through Gabe, are desperately shouting out to mankind: stop creating artificial EMFs that interfere and jam our frequencies – you’re killing us! At least with pesticides and GMOs, the bees may be able to sense and detect the inherent toxicity of them and avoid them, but as long as they must come in the proximity of mankind with all its wireless technology, the bees will find it hard to avoid artificial EMF.
Did you know that bees have an electrical sense? In relation to each other, bees are positively charged and flowers are negatively charged, so when bees pollinate, the electrical polarity helps the pollen stick to bees’ hair. Like many creatures in the animal kingdom such as birds, bats and whales, bees also rely heavily on sound and EMFs for their very survival, including for orientation, navigation and communication. They transmit and receive on certain frequencies, and if there is too much interference or disruption occurring, it wreaks havoc on their lives. Manmade EMF, especially wi-fi, high-frequency cell phone bands and the digital horizontal block frequencies, are jamming and disrupting the bees’ communication channels to the point of threatening their survival. They have long been adapting and adjusting to the electromagnetic intrusion of mankind, but now the frequencies are becoming too much for them to bear.
The message Gabe is bringing through is borne out by scientific research. In Bees, Birds and Mankind: Effects of Wireless Communication Technologies (Kentum, 2009), German scientist Ulrich Warnke wrote:
“Bees and other insects, just as birds, use the Earth’s magnetic field and high frequency electromagnetic energy such as light. They accomplish orientation and navigation by means of free radicals as well as a simultaneously reacting magnetite conglomerate. Technically produced electromagnetic oscillations in the MHz range and magnetic impulses in the low frequency range persistently disturb the natural orientation and navigation mechanisms created by evolution.”
The website Electronic Silent Spring also quotes Warnke as saying that:
“… monocultures, pesticides, the Varroa mite, migratory beekeeping, dressed seed, severe winters, and genetically modified seeds could also explain the bee colonies’ collapse. However, none of these convincingly explains “the fairly sudden and country-spanning appearance two to three years ago of the dying bees phenomenon. Should the bees simply be too weak or ill, they should also die in or near the hive. But no ill bees were found in research into this phenomenon.””
Famous whistleblower George Carlo, a former insider in the mobile phone industry who went public to expose the dangers of wireless, wrote strongly about the issue in June 2007:
“Unfortunately, the situation with the bees is a page out of the playbook that we deal with all the time with the mobile-phone industry. When the bee story first broke, it was based on a German study that showed information-carrying radio waves disrupted the ability of bees to make it back to their hives. That work was made public about two months ago … The news media ran with the story … The mobile-phone industry was caught off-guard by the widespread-media attention the story garnered. After the first news cycle, the mobile-phone industry ‘hit squad’ went into action. First, they planted stories that cast doubt on the Einstein quote …
Next, they conscripted scientists from a number of universities to begin going public with other explanations… viruses, bacteria, pesticides etc., etc., etc. These alternatives have been making the rounds over the past month. The mobile-phone industry is putting quite a bit of money into the pockets of these scientists by supporting their work regarding viruses and alternative explanations. The industry is dealing with it as a politics and public relations problem, thus manipulation of the public perception is the appropriate remedy for them … Most people in the public don’t know the back-story, so they do not see the manipulation coming or have the necessary bases for skepticism to see through it.
But here is the bottom line: The colony collapse disorder has occurred concurrently on four continents within a very short time frame. If the reason was biological or chemical, there would be a pattern of epidemic spread we would be able to trace the spread of bee disappearance or Colony Collapse Disorder from a source similar to the spread of SARS a few years ago. That is not the case. The condition has hit each continent at roughly the same time. That would mean the cause has to have hit the continents at the same time as well. Mobile phones meet that criterion.”
Based on the evidence above (both the message through Gabe and the scientific research), it appears that humanity is killing bees at an alarming rate. However, we are not just killing bees. We are killing ourselves. We are electrical and electromagnetic beings. These artificial EMFs, although silent and invisible, are affecting us too, as those who are electro-sensitive can attest. The bees may be warning us before it’s too late, before we bathe our entire world in an artificial EM blanket from which it’s impossible to escape.
Matter comes from energy or consciousness. The field creates the particle. We need to pay more attention to the energetic realm than the physical realm if we want to strike at the root of the problem. As Dr. Robert O. Becker, author of The Body Electric, said:
“I have no doubt in my mind that at the present time, the greatest polluting element in the earth’s environment is the proliferation of electromagnetic fields. I consider that to be far greater on a global scale, than warming, and the increase in chemical elements in the environment.”
